Operated by FlatGrad LLC. FlatGrad is the consumer-facing brand for this marketplace platform.
1. Peer-to-Peer Marketplace+
FlatGrad is a student-to-student peer-to-peer marketplace and intermediary. We provide technology that allows students to connect and buy or sell items, tickets, and housing directly with one another. FlatGrad does not own, sell, inspect, store, or ship anything listed on the platform, and FlatGrad is not the buyer, seller, landlord, property manager, leasing agent, ticket broker, or other provider in any transaction.
FlatGrad does not set prices, negotiate transactions, process or hold payments, provide escrow, arrange pickup, shipping, delivery, or exchanges, mediate user-to-user financial disputes, or issue or guarantee refunds. Users communicate, negotiate, pay, exchange items, and resolve disputes directly with one another.
2. All Sales Are Between Users+
Unless the buyer and seller agree otherwise, sales are considered final. Buyers should inspect an item, review its condition, ask questions, and confirm that it matches the listing before completing a purchase.
3. Problems With a Purchase+
If an item is significantly different from its description, appears counterfeit, is fraudulent, or otherwise violates FlatGrad's policies, preserve the listing, messages, photos, receipts, payment records, and other relevant evidence. Try to resolve the issue directly with the other user, contact your payment provider when appropriate, and report the issue to FlatGrad through the authenticated Report an issue functionality available on the platform where applicable.
If a seller does not deliver an item, does not appear for an agreed exchange, does not transfer the item or ticket, or otherwise does not complete the agreed exchange, FlatGrad cannot control completion or reverse an outside payment. Preserve your evidence, contact the other user and relevant payment provider, report the problem to FlatGrad, and contact law enforcement when appropriate.
4. Refunds & Payment Disputes+
Refunds for transactions completed directly between users must be handled between the buyer and seller. FlatGrad does not process marketplace payments, hold funds, reverse payments, guarantee or directly issue refunds, or mediate user-to-user financial disputes. Chargebacks, payment reversals, unauthorized transfers, card disputes, bank disputes, and payment-app disputes must be handled with the relevant financial or payment provider.
Reporting an issue to FlatGrad does not create a right to a refund, recovery of money or property, or any other financial remedy from FlatGrad.
5. Tickets & Housing+
Ticket listings are created by users and are not independently verified or endorsed by FlatGrad. Before completing a ticket transaction, users are responsible for checking authenticity, transferability, venue restrictions, resale rules, and applicable law. FlatGrad does not guarantee ticket validity, admission, transfer, or event access.
Housing and sublease listings are created by users and are not independently verified or endorsed by FlatGrad. FlatGrad is not a landlord, property manager, leasing agent, or party to any lease or sublease. Housing disputes should be addressed with the other user, landlord or property manager, applicable housing resources or authorities, or legal counsel as appropriate.
6. Fraud, Reports & Policy Violations+
Users can report relevant listings, users, messages, safety concerns, or transaction problems through the authenticated reporting tools available on the platform where applicable. FlatGrad may review reports and remove content, restrict accounts, suspend accounts, or take other appropriate platform-level action when users engage in fraudulent, deceptive, unsafe, or prohibited activity.
Submitting a report does not guarantee a refund, recovery of money or property, removal of a listing, suspension of another user, a particular outcome, or a specific response time. FlatGrad does not promise mediation, case management, or financial recovery, and reporting does not change the responsibilities of the users involved in a transaction.
7. Cooperation With Law Enforcement+
If we receive a valid legal request, or if we become aware of conduct that may involve fraud, theft, threats, abuse, or another violation of law, FlatGrad may preserve relevant records and cooperate with law enforcement and other authorized governmental authorities. This may include sharing information permitted or required by applicable law, such as account details, listing information, communications, reports, or transaction-related records.
Where legally permitted, FlatGrad may notify affected users about a request or disclosure. We may also make a report to the appropriate authorities when we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect users, the public, or the integrity of the platform. FlatGrad does not investigate crimes or replace law enforcement, and users should contact emergency services or local authorities immediately when there is an urgent safety risk.
